Writing For The Stage
COMPOSITION
The Droll: Syracuse Drama (2024)
In spring of 2024, I went on to composing four original songs for Syracuse Drama's production of "The Droll" by (Meg Miroshnik). With inspirations such as Siouxsie and the Banchees and X-Ray Spex, I created a score that paid homage to the 80s British punk rock movement (an innovative and electric choice made by director Celia Madeoy), while still honoring the time period in which the play is set. I am hoping to continue growing my experience as a composer, and I love working across different genres!

Red Riding Hood: Syracuse Stage (2023)
In fall of 2023, I composed music for eight original songs for the Syracuse Stage Children Tour production of "Red Riding Hood," by Allison Gregory. Under the direction of Katie McGerr, I created music that was reminiscent of Disney classics and was both easily digestible and enjoyable for young audiences.

PLAYWRITING

ENOUGH! Plays To End Gun Violence
After being exposed to so many new works during her time at Syracuse, I began using any spare time I had to write my own stories. In 2023, I was selected as a finalist for ENOUGH! Plays To End Gun Violence (see Updates tab for more info) and I am in the process of sharing more of my writing with the world. I have found a passion and interest in writing for Latinas, and I hope to collaborate with other Latine theatermakers in an effort to continue amplifying underrepresented voices.
MUSIC DIRECTION & VOCAL ARRANGING
I began my work as an assistant music director in high school, and I have loved every opportunity that has come along since then. In Spring of 2022, I worked as music assistant for Syracuse Drama's staged reading of "Miss Havisham's Wedding," where I helped composer and lyricist Jude Obermüeller and David Gomez document changes to their score during the rehearsal process. That following summer, I had the opportunity to music direct a production of Encanto for Kids On Stage Productions, where I helped children ages 6-11 begin to understand the fundamentals of music and acting. Most recently, I worked as an assistant music director for Syracuse Drama's production of "Head Over Heels" under music director Brian Cimmet. Under the mentorship of Brian Cimmet, I began creating piano and vocal arrangements, and my arrangements of musical theater favorites such as "Back to Before" and "My Petersburg" were featured in the Syracuse Drama's Ahren's and Flaherty Revue.
